Known as the "mythical isle", Lanzarote has everything to make it the perfect port of call for any lover of sailing.

Lanzarote is the most unusual and surprising island in the Canary archipelago. The "mythical isle" has a stunning variety of landscapes and attractions for visitors. Declared a "Biosphere Reserve" by UNESCO in 1993, Lanzarote is home to some unique landscapes: the volcanoes in the Timanfaya national park, the vineyards of "La Geria", the golden sandy beaches of Papagayo, the cactus fields in the Mala area and the superb Risco de Famara with its unending beach.

The landscape of Lanzarote is the result of the mastery with which its inhabitants over the centuries have adapted to the geography and climate. Traditional farming and fishing have developed in harmony with the environment, becoming a symbol of cultural and scenic identity.

The island's art and culture centres, dotted around the island, are not to be missed. Most of them were designed by the renowned Lanzarote artist César Manrique, who succeeded in both preserving and enhancing the island's charm and temperament, and they are a fascinating symbiosis between the beauty of nature and intelligent architecture.

Lanzarote enjoys a sunny and pleasant climate all year round. Temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees are the norm on the "Islands of Eternal Spring". The waters of the Atlantic range from 19 to 23 degrees in summer and autumn, so the time is always right for an excursion or any other leisure activity, all year round.

As a major tourist destination, reaching the island by air is easy and comfortable. There are flights from almost all European countries , with the journey taking two to four and a half hours.

Visit the Lanzarote Tourist Board website for more information on the island.
